Rennes for lovers of food and the finer things in life

With some 400 restaurants and cafés, Rennes and its Metropolitan district offer a wide range of cuisines, including fine dining, traditional restaurants, bistros and crêperies.

Diversity and quality abound, and the four Michelin-starred chefs are emulated by exciting young talents, in particular at the Festival Gourmand.

Every Saturday morning, France’s second largest market invites visitors to browse the colourful stalls of over 300 producers from across Brittany, in the unique historical backdrop of the Place des Lices. Come and discover Coucou de Rennes chickens, Petit Gris melons and Reinette apples, dry and fruity cider, shellfish and the unmissable salted butter.
