Forever Sixties. The spirit of the 1960’s in the Pinault Collection – Rennes
After “Debout!” (“Get up!”, 2018) and “Au-delà de la couleur” (“Beyond colour”, 2021) at the Couvent des Jacobins, the Couvent des Jacobins, the Pinault Collection, and the Rennes City and Regional teams are back together for an unprecedented exhibition of works from François Pinault’s collection, put together over half a century.
Through a hundred iconic works from world-famous artists such as Richard Avedon, Richard Hamilton, Barbara Kruger, Ed Ruscha, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Elaine Sturtevant, and more, some of which have never before been exhibited by the Pinault Collection, “Forever Sixties” sheds light on a decisive moment in the history of contemporary art, the visual revolution of the 1960’s, and its legacy and influence over the creative arts in the decades which followed.
Entry to the exhibition also includes access to the exhibitions dedicated to the British artist Jeremy Deller at the Fine Art Museum in Rennes, at the Criée, and at the FRAC Bretagne: Art is magic.
