How does rennes citypass work ?

Rennes Citypass is digital, so you don’t need to go and pick it up at a specific point. You will automatically receive a link to download the dedicated app upon purchase of your Citypass. This contains a unique QR code which will be your golden ticket to each of the included offers.

Where can i buy my citypass ?

We recommend buying your Citypass before your trip directly from the website, where you will receive a 10% discount. You can also buy it when you get there, during your stay, from our Tourist Office consultants.

How to activate my Citypass and its validity period ?

The Citypass is automatically activated upon first use with one of our partners. All you have to do is scan it with one of our partners (at a monument, leisure facility, on transport) to begin the 24 or 48 hour validity period. For example, for a 24-hour Citypass, if you scan it for the first time at 4 p.m. on Friday, it will be valid until 3:59 p.m. on Saturday. Booking date-specific services (guided tours, leisure activities) does not begin the validity period of the Pass. So don’t worry, you can book them as soon as possible.

How long is my Citypass valid for ?

Until the pass has been activated, it remains valid for the duration of the season indicated at the time of purchase. The content and offers included in the Rennes Citypass change throughout the year with the cultural activities of the metropolis, which is why its duration of use is limited.

Do i need to book any of the activities included in my citypass before i go ?

Yes, some activities are subject to reservation (guided tours, leisure activities, etc.). Where applicable, you will find in your Citypass application and on this website “Reserve in advance” on the pages of our partners. In these cases, these activities must be booked directly with our Tourist Office consultants. If you don’t want to go there, you can pre-book directly via our online chat on the website. A travel consultant will get back to you and confirm your booking. We recommend booking your visits and activities as early as possible or before your stay.

Can i go to the same attraction, or do the same activity more that once ?

No, the Rennes Citypass allows you to access each attraction and activity only once. However, with the 48-hour Citypass, you can take two guided tours instead of one. Use of buses and metro on the STAR network is unlimited during the duration of your 24-hour or 48-hour Citypass.

Are the attractions and activities available every day and throughout the year ?

Please note that some attractions and activities are not available on certain days or seasons. Similarly, pre-booked activities are only available in certain time slots. To avoid disappointment, we advise you to check the opening days and times of the places you wish to visit before your trip, directly on the website or on the Citypass application.

Transport included and how to use it ?

The Citypass allows access to all buses and metro on the STAR network that serves Rennes and all the communes of Rennes Métropole. To use it, a special Citypass ticket valid only on the STAR network must be validated each time you use public transport. We recommend collecting your Citypass ticket as soon as you arrive, either at the Tourist Office (1 Rue Saint-Malo) or at the Maison du Vélo located at Place de la Gare (15 bis Place de la Gare). You will be asked for the QR code on your Citypass app in order to receive your Citypass ticket, which will be valid for 24 or 48 hours, depending on the duration of your Citypass. If you have purchased a 48-hour Citypass, you will receive two 24-hour tickets. As with Citypass, the 24- or 48-hours periods only start when the ticket is first scanned at a bus or metro station.

Can i use my citypass in the star park-and-ride facilities?

The Rennes Citypass does not provide access to the city’s park-and-ride facilities.

Do i need to download the application to use my citypass?

We strongly recommend it because, in addition to your QR code, the Citypass application will help you make the most of all the offers included by providing you with a lot of practical information: tips, tricks, locations of attractions, itineraries, opening hours, etc. It is also a guarantee that you will not lose your Citypass. However, if you cannot or do not wish to download the application, you can go to the Tourist Office where your printed QR code will be provided.

How do i obtain discounts available at the tourist office shop ?

Go directly to the Tourist Office shop during opening hours and present your Citypass at the till. A 10% discount will be applied to your total purchase.

If my citypass is lost or stolen, can i get another one?

No, in case of loss, theft, misuse or non-use, the card will not be replaced or refunded. The same applies in the event of disruption at one of the service providers (strike, exceptional closure, etc.) Destination Rennes cannot be held responsible for this.

Can i bring a child along on my electric boat trip ?

Yes, a special “Guest Citypass Child” rate will allow you to buy additional seats in the electric boats at preferential rates for parents with a Citypass. This rate is valid from 2 to 16 years old. To obtain this rate, go to the Tourist Office or contact our advisors on our online chat at the website.

Is there a child, pensioner or student concession ?

Children and/or pensioners very often benefit from concession or free entry. Therefore, we do not currently offer a specific Citypass for these groups.
