The 48-hour Citypass gives you free admission to the temporary exhibition of the Bintianais Ecomuseum entitled “La Nature pour modèle” (“Nature as a model”). 

Travel back in time in this former manor and farmhouse located near the city gates.

Just like a natural history museum, the exhibition is a chance to see educational models and boards as well as stuffed animals that bear witness to 19th-century science education. Most of the exceptional items on display are part of scientific collections belonging to the city of Rennes.

The Ecomuseum traces the farm’s 5 centuries of history, from its cultural heritage with its 1,200m2 museum to its natural heritage with its cropland, its conservatory orchard and its livestock featuring 19 hardy breeds.

How long
to plan for ?
Allow 2–2.5 hours to fully enjoy. One hour for the temporary exhibition and at least one hour to see the animals and take a walk in the conservatory garden.

By metro: Line A, Triangle station, then 15 minutes on foot.
By bus: Line 61, Le Hil-Bintinais stop.
By car: From Rennes city centre, take rue de l’Alma, follow the signs towards Noyal-Châtillon sur Seiche.
When
to go ?

From Tuesday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (picnics allowed), Saturdays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sundays between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Ecomuseum is closed on Mondays and public holidays. Please note that the exhibition rooms (museum and temporary exhibition) are closed from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
